ALROSA sells $10.3 mln of large diamonds at Vladivostok auction

MOSCOW, Nov 14 (PRIME) -- Russian diamond mining giant ALROSA has sold U.S. $10.3 million worth of large diamonds with mass of more than 10.8 carats at an auction in Vladivostok, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

In total, ALROSA sold 119 gem-quality diamonds with a combined mass of 1,890 carats to 26 companies that represent global centers of diamond trade, the company said.

Yevgeny Agureyev, director of the United Selling Organization of ALROSA, said that the company sold a total of almost $55 million diamonds at four auctions in Vladivostok in 2018. The company believes that the Vladivostok site is promising and it will improve and develop the auction site in the future, Agureyev said as quoted by ALROSA as saying.
